My work strikes a peculiar balance between order and chaos, maximalism and minimalism, as well as representational and abstract. Uncommitted to a single form of media or technique, I am focused on feeding my practice with whatever I have around or happen to be obsessed with at the moment. These obsessions vary widely, and may include newly acquired art-making materials or found objects, lyrics to a song, an experimental mark-making process, personal or current events, the texture of a blank surface, a moment in a “trashy” television show, the constraints of a work assignment, an expression on someone’s face, and so on. Instead of grounding my practice in a specific medium, my work intends to engage an ever-changing mental, emotional, intellectual, physical, societal, and spiritual landscape through near constant questioning and experimentation.

Through different methods of melding materials together, mark-making and subtracting, I take advantage of my intuitive and  inherently reactive practice to learn, challenge, and experiment with meaning through the making process.
